2 lb. masa
2 lb. pork chop
2 small onions
1 chicken
1/2 cup tomato sauce(I'm sure they mean "Arturo Sauce")
16 olives
2 tsp. salt
hot pepper to taste or tabasco
1 lb. tomatoes
Break pork and meat in pieces and put on stove to cook with 2 cups
water, tomato sauce, 1 onion, salt and pepper and let cook until meat is
tender, adding water half cup each time. Meat ought to have a large amount
of sauce. Place the masa in a bowl and add little by little -3/4 of cup of
sauce, stirring well until well mixed with masa. Make another sauce of
sliced onion, tomato, shortening and salt. Place- a portion of the masa on
a plantain leaf or cabbage leaf, which has been dipped in hot water and
greased, spread the masa as for an empanada. Place in center a portion of
mixture of meat, 2 olives and a little sauce. Fold over the masa arrange
like a package, tie with string and boil 20 minutes.
